A new series of mini-B USB connectors up only about 1/8th of the space standard USB-B connectors for portable applications such as digital cameras, cell phones and PDAs. The new miniature series is fully compliant with current USB 2.0 specifications, which enables speeds up to 480 Mbps.
The new mini-B design includes five circuits, with one circuit reserved for future use in host identification between devices.
