Development of "SG5 Series" Connector for SD card
with approx. 10% less mounting space
::Outline::
Along with the recent downsizing and weight reduction of devices in which small memory cards are used, small memory card connectors have also been changing. In response to this trend, JAE has developed the "SG5Series" Connector for SD cards to add to the existing "SG1 to SG3 Series". The SG5 Series requires approx. 10 % less mounting space than that of the existing ones.

- Small contact type: Push-push structure is used to minimize case mounting space
- Board top/bottom mount type (stand-off: 1.6mm)
- User-friendly structure with clicking sound at insertion and removal of card
- Friction lock for holding SD card (Multimedia card cannot be locked)
- Hot plug structure where 2 terminals out of 9 first come into contact with card pad; card insertion structure where 1 terminal last comes into contact at card insertion
- Lock/unlock detection structure for write protect switch in SD card
- Card insertion detection structure
- Automatic mounting with tray
